DAS WASSERWERK GENDERKINGEN

Im Wasserwerk Genderkingen wird das sauerstoffarme Rohwasser zu Trinkwasser aufbereitet.
Dazu wird es zuerst in der Aufbereitungsanlage belüftet. Der zugeführte Sauerstoff dient der Oxidation von gelöstem Eisen und Mangan in unlösliche, abfiltrierbare Verbindungen. Mit Schwebstoffen und organischen Bestandteilen über offene Quarzkies-Filter aus dem Wasser entfernt.Das Rohwasser hat von vornherein eine gute Qualität, deshalb ist eine weitergehende Aufbereitung nicht erforderlich.

Anschließend pumpen fünf horizontal liegende Kreiselpumpensätze mit einer Förderleistung von bis zu 2.300 Litern je Sekunde das Trinkwasser vom Wasserwerk zum circa 156 Meter höher gelegenen Scheitelbehälter Graisbach.Von dort fließt es im freien Gefälle durch die rund 101 Kilometer lange WFW-Fernleitung über die Hochbehälter Pleinfeld und Krottenbach bis zum Pumpwerk Steudach bei Erlangen.
